Clay represents health care, education, and financial industry clients throughout the country on a broad array of regulatory, employment, labor, risk management and other matters. Whether it is an employee claim, a payment dispute, a regulatory issue, or a contract negotiation, Clay is often the first call his clients make when faced with a difficult situation.
As outside general counsel to medical device suppliers, Clay has in-depth knowledge of multiple State and Federal regulatory schemes including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark law, HIPAA, and Sunshine Act. He also advised health care providers generally on issues such as reimbursement and payor contracts.
In his role as outside counsel to a nationally recognized higher education institution, he advises on issues related to FERPA, Clery Act, Higher Education Act, and Title IX.
Clay also regularly represents financial trustees in litigation and related matters. As such, he is experienced with the complex financial and fiduciary issues that arise in the resolution of trust and estate matters.
Clay understands the complex legal framework that governs many industries, and is adept at developing policies, procedures and contracts that meet both business and legal requirements. When issues arise, he also guides his clients through the necessary remediation efforts, including internal investigations, disciplinary hearings, and if necessary, litigation.
Prior to launching his own practice and then joining ASG Law as Of Counsel, Clay was a partner at Dunn Law Firm, LLP.
